Downtown Omaha Inc. and The RiverFront are issuing an invitation to join monthly community-based events called RiverFront First Fridays.
Each is more than just an event, says Viv Ewing, wife of Omaha Mayor John Ewing.
"It is an invitation for every resident and visitor to experience the very best of Omaha," she said. "When families gather, local musicians perform, small businesses thrive and neighbors connect, we strengthen the fabric of our community."
The inaugural event for 2026 will kick off this Friday at Gene Leahy Mall at The RiverFront. The lineup includes the Chad Stoner Band, Raices de Mexico dance troupe and Pear Tree Dance troupe, along with face painting and balloon artists.
Giant Jenga, Imagination Playground, Game Cart, Spike Ball and more will be available.

"I encourage everyone to come downtown, enjoy our beautiful RiverFront, support our local vendors and artists and experience the energy that makes Omaha such a special place to call home," Ewing said.
