Just days after law enforcement arrested former Husker wrestler A.J. Ferrari following a pursuit in North Platte, Lancaster County issued a warrant for his arrest for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman in Lincoln.Â
On Thursday, an arrest warrant for Ferrari was issued, charging him with strangling a pregnant woman, third-degree domestic violence assault of a pregnant woman causing bodily injuries, and first-degree false imprisonment.Â

According to an affidavit for his arrest, officers with the Lincoln Police Department were sent to a north Lincoln apartment on May 8. A woman and Ferrari had allegedly gotten into a fight and he would not let her leave.
The woman said Ferrari had dragged her off the bed by her feet and strangled her. She told police she tried kicking him back because she was pregnant and concerned about her baby.

When the woman was able to get free, she called her mom for help, who then called police.Â
The woman was taken to a local hospital for neck pain. Doctors said she had abrasions on her neck and bruises, injuries consistent with strangulation.
Early Saturday morning, Ferrari was arrested for his alleged involvement in a pursuit that started in North Platte late Friday night and reached speeds around 140 mph. He was arrested on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and disturbing the peace.
He was booked in the Lincoln County jail but was later released on a $2,000 bond, NTV reported.
Ferrari was scheduled to appear at a wrestling camp at Medicine Valley High School in Curtis on Saturday hosted by the school’s wrestling program and the Medicine Valley Wrestling Club, according to flyers for the event.
An All-American at heavyweight this past season for Nebraska, Ferrari has entered the transfer portal.
Ferrari was also arrested in January on a fugitive-from-justice charge. That Nebraska charge — stemming from a warrant for his arrest issued in Texas — was later dismissed after Ferrari returned to his home state to resolve the warrant.
Ferrari was indicted in January on that charge, evading arrest with a vehicle.
