A 40-year-old Lincoln man has been charged after allegedly assaulting at least three girls in Lincoln dating back to 2000, court records show.
On Monday, prosecutors charged Joseph Martinez with first-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child.

During his arraignment Monday afternoon, Lancaster County Court Judge Timothy Phillips set Martinez’s percentage bond at $1 million.
According to the affidavit for Martinez’s arrest, a 29-year-old woman told police she had been sexually assaulted by Martinez multiple times while she was between the ages of 5 and 10 years old in Lincoln. The assault is believed to have happened between 2000 and 2006.
The woman also told investigators that a girl who is now 13 years old was also sexually assaulted.

That girl told investigators that Martinez forced her to touch his genitalia while she was in her bed. She was 11 at the time. She had allegedly been assaulted by Martinez at least twice between 2023 and 2025.
Then, this past March, investigators received a report from a youth advocate that a 16-year-old had also been sexually assaulted by Martinez when she was between 9 and 11 years old in his basement in Lincoln and at a hotel in Columbus between 2017 and 2021.
Martinez was arrested with a warrant in Lincoln on April 20 for the Columbus incident.
On Friday, a warrant was issued for his arrest for the alleged incidents in Lincoln and he was booked in the Lancaster County jail Monday.
