LEXINGTON — The Lexington Minutemen are the Class B-8 sub-district champions after a 4-0 win over the Scottsbluff Bearcats on Tuesday at Ray Ehlers Stadium.
It looked like it was going to be a scoreless first half with the Minutemen working against the wind.
Lexington had eight shots on goal during the first half, but nothing was hitting the net as time was winding down.
Lexington's Jose Navarrete-Escobedo received a yellow card in the 27th minute.
In the 34th minute, Lexington's Alex Perez slid a goal by from the left side.
Scottsbluff's goalie, Keon Delgado, had a major role in keeping Lexington from scoring more in the first half with six saves.
The Minutemen were up 1-0 at halftime.

Lexington went up 2-0 with a goal by Naelson Garcia-Villa de Leon 59th minute.
Scottsbluff had a penalty kick to the left side of the field that nearly slipped through for a goal, but sailed closely by the post.
The Minutemen went up 3-0 sealing the win with a goal by Isai Ramirez-Chino in the 67th minute.
A long shot goal by Adan Lima-Miranda, in the 69th minute, gave the Minutemen their fourth goal.
Lexington hosts the Class B-4 District final against Elkhorn on Saturday, May 4 at 12:30 p.m. at Ray Ehlers Stadium in Lexington.
