"My name's Sam Foltz. I'm the starting punter here. My message today is all about teamwork."
The voice of late Husker punter Sam Foltz opens the special senior day video tribute that played in Memorial Stadium before kickoff Saturday. Following that were statements from his teammates describing what Foltz meant to them and what they'd like to say to him if he were still around today.
Making comments were Sam Hahn, Josh Banderas, Terrell Newby, Dylan Utter, Drew Brown, Tommy Armstrong and Tanner Zlab.
Foltz's parents, Gerald and Jill Foltz, were in attendance for the celebration of their son's life. All of the seniors were also given flowers they each placed at the 27-yard line in his memory. They then gave Sam's parents a hug.
The Terrapins also presented a customized Maryland No. 27 jersey for Foltz that was placed on the Husker sideline.
