During World Storytelling Day on March 20, the Wilson Public Library welcomed residents to embark on a virtual journey during the third “Armchair Travel” event of the year. Cozad’s Ann Burkholder captivated the audience with a presentation showcasing her adventures from various parts of the world over the years.
Burkholder has taken several boat tours over the years and visited places around the world including France, Japan, Egypt, Kenya, Germany, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Canada and more.
In her presentation, Burkholder delved into her extensive travels, recounting tales of boat tours that have left an indelible mark on her international memories. Most of her voyages, she said, unfolded around 2007, when she met many family members from different parts of the world.
Detailing the intricacies of boat tours, Burkholder shared insights into the daily rhythms of life on board, where each day unfolded with a carefully curated program of planned stops and excursions. The size of the boats, she said, varied widely, accommodating from 150 to 300 passengers, with each boat providing an appropriate amount of space for each traveler.
