If you plan to take a shuttle to Memorial Stadium for Saturday's opener against Ohio, there's some big changes you need to know: StarTran won't be picking you up.
City officials last week announced Pronto Corporation, a private charter service based in San Jose, California, will replace StarTran's Big Red Express shuttle that takes fans from all corners of Lincoln to Memorial Stadium.
The company's iPronto service will also expand the gameday shuttles to Omaha, Kearney, Grand Island, Norfolk and Columbus.
“We are proud to have offered the Big Red Express to Husker fans for more than 45 years," said Liz Elliott, director of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities. "Today, there is an opportunity to begin a new tradition."
All current Big Red Express pass holders who purchased passes will receive a full refund, which will be mailed Sept. 15.
