OVERTON — The S-E-M lady Mustangs won the Fort Kearny Conference quarterfinal 59-44 over the Loomis Wolves Monday in Overton.
S-E-M senior Taryn Arbuthnot led the way with 33 points. Avery Harder added eight and Kyler Jones had seven.
It was a slow start with Loomis leading 2-1 halfway through the first quarter.
The Mustangs pulled behind 6-5 after a basket by Arbuthnot.
S-E-M took the lead 9-6 after a basket by Avery Harder followed by an Arbuthnot basket.
Loomis' Sophia Schemper scored a basket then 1 of 2 free throws to tie the end of the first quarter at 9.
Six straight points by Arbuthnot put the Mustangs up 15-9.
A free throw by Schemper cut the deficit to four at 17-13.

Baskets by Harder and Arbuthnot extended the Mustang lead to eight.
S-E-M led 25-19 at halftime after a basket by Mia Scoville.
Schemper scored to cut the deficit to four before Jaycelyn Hoos found the hoop to keep the Mustangs in control.
Loomis' Elli Isaacson knocked down a 3 to pull the Wolves behind 37-26.
Scoville made a 3 to edge the Mustangs up by four before Jones scored five straight points to put S-E-M up 35-26.
A pair of free throws by Schemper cut the deficit to seven.
Arbuthnot added a basket and a 3-point play to put S-E-M up 42-30, ending the third quarter.
The fourth started with a basket by Harder to extend the Mustangs lead to 14.
