BOELUS — The Hi-Line Bulls and Overton Bandits Post 277 traveled to Boelus for the C6 area district junior tournament on Friday, July 12.
Hi-Line lost 8-4 against the Alma Mudcats.
The Bulls were seeded No. 5 and Alma was seeded. No. 2.
Hi-Line started out ahead with two runs scored on a hit by Judah Neimeier in the top of the first inning.
Alma scored three runs in the bottom of the inning to take the early lead.
The next three innings for both teams were shutouts on both sides until Hi-Line scored two runs in the top of the fifth taking a one-run lead.
Hi-Line shut Alma out from scoring in the bottom of the fifth.
It wasn’t the best inning for Hi-Line after being shutout in the top of the sixth followed by Alma scoring five runs in the bottom.

The Bulls had one final shot in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game, but two strikeouts and a tough defense for Alma ended the game.

Pitching- Knackstedt had three strikeouts, two walks, five hits and three runs allowed. Alex White had five strikeouts, four walks, three hits and five runs allowed.
Hi-Line dropped down to the consolation bracket where they faced Ravenna.
It was another tough game as the Bulls lost 11-3 to end their district run.
The Bulls scored three runs to take a 3-1 lead at the end of the first inning.
The second to fifth innings were all shutouts as the Ravenna pitcher picked up 11 strikeouts.
Hi-Line struggled in the final three innings allowing Ravenna to score three runs in the third, four runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth.

Pitching- Neimeier had one strikeout, four walks, three hits and four runs allowed. Beitler had one strikeout, one walk, two hits and four runs allowed. Deifenbaugh had two strikeouts, two walks, two hits and three runs allowed.
The Overton Bandits kicked off the tournament against Dannebrog-Cairo-Boelus otherwise known as DCB Post 201.
Overton took a 1-0 lead in the top of the inning before shutting out DCB in the bottom.
The roles reversed in the second inning as DCB shut the Bandits out then scored two runs in the bottom of the inning.
The Bandits scored two runs in the third and three in the fourth to take a 6-2 lead before DCB scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
After shutting Overton out in the top of the fifth, DCB scored two runs to tie the game at six.
Overton scored the winning two runs in the top of the sixth inning followed by two back-to-back inning shutouts for the win.

On Saturday, the Bandits faced the Alma Mudcats.
Overton lost the close game 3-0.
The Bandits were strong on defense, but not strong enough to keep the Mudcats from scoring two runs in the second inning and one in the fourth.
Alma’s defense and pitching was on fire with nine strikeouts, three walks and only allowed one hit.
STATS
Pitching- Kamden Robinson had one strikeout, two walks, three runs allowed and one hit allowed. Rohde had three strikeouts.
