Kearney, Neb. – Ten members of the Nebraska Kearney cross country/track and field team recently earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
This award went through a change prior to the 2022-23 academic year and had additional changes in the summer of 2023. To qualify now, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA (undergrad and grad both over at 3.50+) and have placed in the top 50 in the region rankings in an individual event (cross, indoor or outdoor track) during the past season. Additionally, each school is allowed six qualifiers per gender.
Previously, Academic All-District nominees could have posted a 3.25 cumulative GPA, there was no game percentage requirement with honorees selected by a random vote. Now, all qualifiers receive Academic All-District distinction.

UNK's women's qualifiers are Ella Buhlke (Central City), Melanie Driewer (York), Brynn Hirschfeld (York), Toree Slavik (Kensington, Kan.), Kassidy Stuckey (McCool Junction) and Jordan Soto-Stopak (Albion), with the men's qualifiers being Rylan Basart (Stockton, Kan.), Eli Holt (Firth), Kale Muir (Lincoln), Brett Schoenhofer (Andover, Kan.) and Nolan Studley (Hastings).
Buhlke, Hirschfeld, Schoenhofer, Soto-Stopak and Studley are repeat qualifiers, with Basart, Stuckey and Studley advancing to the national ballot where he could earn Academic All-American honors.
