The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is searching for a driver who allegedly ran and chased three kids off the road Thursday in southwest Douglas County.
The incident happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. near 205th and Harrison Streets, according to a social media post from the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office said the kids were illegally riding electric dirt bikes on a side road when a “frustrated” driver in a black four-door Jeep Wrangler came up behind the kids and honked at them.
The Sheriff’s Office said the kids jumped the curb to get away, and the driver allegedly proceeded to chase them off the road. One kid fell off his bike and was run over by the Jeep, the Sheriff’s Office said. That child sustained a serious leg injury that is not believed to be life-threatening.

The Sheriff’s Office said witnesses described the driver as a white man with a beard. The vehicle itself appeared to be new, with in-transit stickers still displayed.
