President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced his support for Omaha City Council Vice President Brinker Harding in the race for Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District.
"Brinker Harding has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" the president wrote on Truth Social.
Harding said he was honored to earn the endorsement.
"Under President Trump's leadership, Republicans have delivered historic tax relief for families — including no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security," Harding said on social media. "President Trump is also keeping our communities safe by protecting our border and driving the murder rate to its lowest since 1900 — while bringing American strength back to the world stage."

Brinker Harding is now the lone Republican candidate in Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District race. After Brett Lindstrom dropped out, Harding received support from a variety of Nebraska Republican officials.
Harding is the Republican nominee for the seat and is not facing a challenger in the May 12 primary.
Republican Rep. Don Bacon is in his fifth term and not seeking reelection. Bacon and Trump have clashed, particularly over Ukraine, but Bacon did receive Trump's endorsement in his most recent election.
Trump's announcement came as most attention in the district is focused on the Democratic primary, where six candidates are still vying for the nomination.
Five of the candidates participated in a KETV candidate forum Sunday and universally said that they want to rein in Trump. They called his leadership chaotic and said it's causing affordability issues at home and making people less safe.
Harding, however, embraced Trump's blessing, which also said Harding would champion a long list of initiatives, like supporting ag, cutting taxes, stopping migrant crime and protecting the Second Amendment.
"I look forward to working with you to make life more affordable and government more accountable," Harding said to Trump.
Voters in CD2 have bucked Trump in the last two presidential races, earning the district its "Blue Dot" nickname. Omaha also elected Democrat John Ewing mayor last year, ousting three-term incumbent Republican Jean Stothert.
The Cook Political Report and Sabato's Crystal Ball list the 2nd District as the only Red seat in the House that leans toward a flip, aside from districts that were redrawn amid state redistricting battles.
Harding's camp has said experts outside of Nebraska don't have a full understanding of the district.
Matthew Zacher of Flyover Strategies, a political consultant for the Harding campaign, told The World-Herald in February that Harding and the district are center-right.
He pointed to an advantage of 17,000 registered Republicans in the district and that the district voted for Pillen for governor in 2022 and Ricketts for senator in 2024. The Douglas County sheriff and prosecutor are also both Republicans.
Harding also has endorsements from Nebraska GOP leaders like Gov. Jim Pillen and Sens. Pete Ricketts and Deb Fischer. Bacon also endorsed Harding.
