GOTHENBURG — Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture students took “learn by doing” beyond the classroom on Oct. 1 as the advanced welding class traveled to WearParts in Gothenburg for an inside look at welding in the agricultural industry.

NCTA alumnus Eric Grimes puts his “learn by doing” experience to work as a welder at WearParts in Gothenburg. Grimes, a 2025 graduate of NCTA’s Agricultural Equipment Management program, said the welding skills he developed at NCTA helped prepare him to step into his current role.
