A Lexington man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Dawson County Sheriff's deputy during an incident Friday, July 24.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., the deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in Lexington.
During the traffic stop, a passenger attempted to exit the rear driver's side, the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
The subject was later identified as 46-year-old Jose Andres-Jacinto.
Around that same time, a second subject also exited on the rear passenger side, and was later identified as 21-year-old Andres Andres-Diego.
Andres-Jacinto failed to comply with the deputy's commands to return to vehicle, a press release said.
Around the same time, Andres-Diego allegedly attacked the deputy. After Andres-Diego disengaged from the struggle, he entered into a nearby residence.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 38-year-old Melvin Herrera-Gomez, drove the vehicle away from the scene.
Officers with the Lexington Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol and Dawson County Sheriff's Office assisted the deputy in taking Andres-Jacinto into custody and arrested Andres-Diego from the nearby residence.
Herrera-Gomez was also arrested in the Lexington area.
The deputy was treated for his injuries and released.
All three subjects were lodged into the Dawson County jail.
Andres-Jacinto and Andres-Diego were arrested for suspicion of second degree assault on an officer, obstructing a peace officer and resisting an office.
