LEXINGTON — Home Federal Bank in Lexington has named Joe Carey as market president. Carey was previously president of Community First Bank in Maywood.
Carey grew up in ranching and started from the ground up.
“I think when you come up the hard way, it helps you appreciate what people go through on a day-to-day basis," he said. "It has also made me highly motivated to create an easier path for others."
Joe has recently been named director of the Nebraska and Kansas School of Banking Ag Lending School. He teaches agriculture credit analysis, loan structuring and problem loan sections of the NBA/KBA Schools of Banking. The partnership has been a great way to give back to an industry that has done so much for him, he said.
Carey continues to work the family ranch near Valentine and enjoys hunting, fly fishing and reading. He can be reached at jcarey@homefederalne.com or 308-398-4954.
