The Omaha City Council approved an ordinance this week that paves the way for the potential sale of $50 million in streetcar bonds to Mutual of Omaha.
The Omaha City Council met Tuesday at the City-County Building downtown and approved an ordinance that establishes a lease-purchase program for building and equipping the streetcar system, and for selling up to $50 million in lease-purchase bonds to a private institutional investor.
