GRAND ISLAND — Chief Industries, Inc., a leading diversified manufacturing company, is proud to announce the appointment of Jeff Harders as the new Environmental Health and Safety manager. Harders joins Chief Industries with a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the EHS field.
Harders comes to Chief Industries from CNH Industrial — CNH Ind America LLC, where he served as the EHS&E manager since October 2022. In this role, he was instrumental in evaluating, updating, and implementing health and safety procedures for the Grand Island plant.
Prior to his role as EHS&E manager, Harders held various positions at CNH Industrial since January 2014, including EHS supervisor and roles in continuous improvement. He began his career at Great Plains Safety & Health Organization as a safety specialist, where he developed safety training programs, conducted compliance audits, and led large-scale safety initiatives.

In his new role at Chief Industries, Harders will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance across all divisions. He will conduct thorough audits for OSHA compliance, perform annual inspections of plant facilities, and formulate and maintain general safety policies and programs.
Harders will develop and conduct effective safety training programs, investigate OSHA complaints and participate in accident investigations to ensure root cause analysis and prevent reoccurrence. Jeff will also review and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, manage all related documentation and reports, and prepare necessary permit applications.
Harders holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business and technology — safety management from Wayne State College and a bachelor’s degree in business management and administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is a certified associate safety professional and an internal lead auditor for ISO 50001, 45001 and 14001 standards.
