LEXINGTON — The driver and two passengers in a Hyundai were taken to the hospital after injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Prospect Rd. and Plum Creek Parkway on Thursday, July 18.

At 3:24 p.m. the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection after there was a reported accident.

 Lexington Police Department arrived on scene and began controlling traffic, one deputy with the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.

The accident occurred between a black Hyundai and red Dodge pickup. The Hyundai suffered heavy front end damage and had come to rest in the middle of Plum Creek Parkway in the southbound lane.

The Dodge pickup had driven a short way from the intersection and was able to pull off Prospect Rd. It suffered damage to the front left quarter of the vehicle.

The Lexington Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene with a utility rig and one ambulance. The driver and passengers of the Hyundai were transported for their injuries, details were not available on scene.

Lexington Police Officer Kareem McDougall said the accident is currently under investigation.
