A man died in an Omaha hospital Wednesday after being shot by a police officer serving a search warrant near North 78th and Redick Avenues.Â
The Omaha Police Department identified the man shot and killed by a police officer in a north-central Omaha residential neighborhood.
Omaha Police Deputy Chief Scott Gray said the department is unlikely to do away with standard entry no-knock warrants entirely, but use of the method has been suspended pending a full review.
Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said Wednesday he recommended Officer Adam Vail be terminated for violating the department's polices, procedures and training in the shooting death of Cameron Ford.Â
