Friday turned into an early dismissal for Bennet Elementary students as the school southeast of Lincoln lost power and air conditioning.
A Facebook post from the OR-1 District said students were able to eat lunch, which was prepared before the power outage, and students would be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
The school's phone lines also went down as part of the power outage. Staff are monitoring email closely, according to the Facebook post. Â
Parents were welcome to pick their children up before 1:30 dismissal.
Palmyra High School is continuing with a normal school day, as the power outage is isolated to the elementary building. All scheduled district activities will also continue as planned.
