Council Bluffs police investigate motorcyclist's death in collision

Officers were called to a crash near South 27th Street and Fifth Avenue about 9:30 p.m., according to a statement from the Council Bluffs Police Department.

They located a man suffering from life-threatening injuries following the collision of his motorcycle and an SUV. The motorcyclist was taken by a Council Bluffs Fire Department ambulance to the Nebraska Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. 

The man's name is being withheld pending notification of family, police said. The collision remains under investigation.
