Singer D4vd has been arrested on suspicion of killing a 14-year-old girl whose decomposed body was found in his abandoned Tesla. According to the LAPD, homicide detectives arrested the 21-year-old Houston-born artist, whose real name is David Burke, in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. D4vd’s defense attorneys said in an email, “Let us be clear — the actual evidence... will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez.” The defense added that, “there has been no indictment... and no criminal complaint filed. David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.” The police say investigators will soon present the case to prosecutors, who will then decide whether there is enough evidence to file charges against the singer-songwriter. A grand jury began hearing evidence in December 2025, but D4vd’s arrest marks the first major development since his family was summoned to testify in February. Rivas Hernandez’s body was discovered in a Tesla registered to Dv4d that had been towed from the Hollywood Hills, one day after she would have turned 15. Court documents show that investigators found a cadaver bag with a “strong odor of decay" containing the teenagers’ body parts inside the vehicle. At the time, D4vd had been on tour for his album ‘Withered,’ but several shows were later canceled after the investigation came to light.
