Federal immigration officers have arrived at U.S. airports, fulfilling President Trump's pledge to deploy them to help the Transportation Security Administration during a partial government shutdown.

Senators are expected to vote Thursday on a Republican proposal to fund the TSA and much of the DHS, except for immigration enforcement and removal operations. It's expected to fail.
The deal, which the Senate approved unanimously without a roll call, next goes to the House, which is expected to consider it Friday.
Johnson rejected a Senate bill and said House Republicans would seek to fund the entire department at current levels until May 22.
Experts and labor leaders say the mammoth security lines at some U.S. airports would not disappear overnight.
Major U.S. airports continued to recommend Sunday that passengers arrive several hours early.
