VOLLEYBALL: Lexington drops home matchup in five to Hershey
The Lexington Minutemaid volleyball team dropped a five-set thriller Thursday to the Hershey Panthers.
Lexington lost 25-20, 15-25, 25-18, 22-25 and 13-15.
The Maids took a 3-0 lead in the first set after three straight kills.
A Piper Roberts kill put Lexington up 7-3, but Hershey’s 5-1 run tied the set at 8-8.
Josslyn Mins’ third kill of the match put Lexington up 14-10.
Hershey called a timeout after a Sydney Reutlinger-Maravilla kill gave the Maids a 19-14 lead.
Lexington reached set point after a Mins kill, and a Hershey error gave Lexington the win 25-20.
A Mins ace tied the second set 2-2, but Hershey maintained a strong lead after the tie.

The Panthers jumped to a 7-3 lead off a block before Lexington gained momentum, pulling to within one at 7-6 off a Hershey error.

Back-to-back kills by Hershey’s Demi DaMoude gave Hershey a 20-12 lead.
DaMoude finished off the set with a kill, giving the Panthers a 25-15 second set win.
Rylee Church put down a kill to get the third set going for the Maids, but Hershey was on their heels most of the set.
Late in the second set, Lexington took a 17-11 lead after a Kipley Kuecker kill.
A Hershey kill followed by an ace pulled the Panthers to within four at 18-14.
