Cozad boys win Dawson County golf triangular
COZAD — The Cozad Haymakers hosted the annual Dawson County golf triangular Thursday against Lexington and Gothenburg at Cozad Country Club.
Cozad brought in a team total of 416 to win the invite.
Lexington scored a 435 to take second.
Gothenburg finished in third with a 445.
HAYMAKERS
Ethan Atchison swung in a score of 74 to win the meet.
Owen Ross secured second place with a score of 80.
Harrison Edeal finished with an 84 for fourth place.
Daygn Buss notched an 84 for fifth place.
Chandler Kaup brought in a 94 for 16th.
Matthew Keith finished with an 98 for 19th.
Manny Castillo took 22nd with a score of 108.
Rieker Spradlin ended with a 141 for 24th.
MINUTEMEN
Jaxon Neff led the Minutemen with an 86 for sixth.
Micah Scherr also had an 86 for seventh.
Mathias Pepplitsch finished in eighth with a score of 87.
Toran Kjar brought in a score of 88 for ninth.
Winston Wright swung in an 88 for 10th.
Liam Sonckson took 15th with a score of 92.
Kannon Seim ended with a score of 96 for 17th.
Drexton Edeal finished with a 98 for 18th.
SWEDES
Jaxon Earll led the Swedes with a score of 83 for third.
Boone Tederman finished with a score of 89 for 11th.
Landon Mroczek took 12th with a score of 90.
Braden Ehlers swung in a score of 91 for 13th.
Axel Jorgensen ended in 14th with a score of 92.
Tunney Grigg landed in 20th with a score of 104.
Gunner Thompson finished with a score of 106 for 21st.
Kehl Jones had a score of 114 for 23rd.
DUSTER INVITE
Lexington, Cozad and Gothenburg competed Tuesday at the Holdrege Duster Invite.
Gothenburg finished third as a team with a score of 330.
Cozad ended with a score of 335 for fifth.
Lexington took 12th with a score of 372.
The invite was won by Kearney's junior varsity team with a score of 323. Aurora came in second with a 329.
The individual winner was Kearney's Sam Knoell with a score of 73. The runner-up was Holdrege's Zach Ptacnick with a 76.
Other teams that competed were Hastings, Minden, McCook, Grand Island Central Catholic, Broken Bow and Grand Island Northwest.
SWEDES
Trey Bartels led the Swedes with a score of 79 for eighth.
Brady Cornwell took 10th with a score of 80.
Earll ended with an 82 for 12th.
Valen Pfeifter brought in a score of 89 for 35th.
A.J. Holsten swung in a score of 90 for 40th.
HAYMAKERS
Atchison led the way for Cozad, finishing in fifth with a score of 78.
Ross swung in a score of 79 for seventh.
Edeal finished with a score of 88 for 33rd.
Buss ended with a score of 90 for 42nd.
Keith finished in 60th with a score of 116.
MINUTEMEN
Neff led the Minutemen with a score of 86 for 27th.
Kjar took 49th with a score of 94.
Wright ended with a score of 94 for 50th.
Scherr finished in 54th with a score of 98.
Sonckson took 55th with a score of 98.
Cozad and Gothenburg competed May 1 in Broken Bow.
Lexington will compete in Omaha at 9 a.m. Monday, May 4.
