Work will begin on highways 92 and 97 south of Tryon

NORTH PLATTE — Weather permitting, work will begin May 4 on Nebraska Highway 92 from reference post 203.77 to reference post 207.94 and on Nebraska Highway 97 from reference post 19.92 to reference post 26.59, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Western Engineering Co. of Harlan, Iowa, is the contractor for this project. Work includes grading, culvert replacement, seeding and asphalt paving. Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions, a pilot car, flaggers and traffic signals. A 10-foot width restriction will be in effect.
Anticipated completion is in October.
The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, buckle up, and put phones down.
