Lexington 14U baseball gets revenge of earlier loss to Norton
After falling to Norton 9-8 on June 2, the Lexington 14U 'Pony' baseball team picked up a 14-4 home victory over Norton Thursday evening.
It seemed that the game was headed towards a loss again after Lexington trailed 4-0 through one and a half innings.
Norton scored three runs in the top of the first and one in the top of the second.
Cooper Burton pitched through all three innings, picking up his first strikeout in the top of the first.
Ryker Wolfe and Oliver Fellers earned walks in the bottom of the first but were left on base after Terrence Bliven struck out and Bryson McDougall grounded out.
Burton pitched back-to-back strikeouts in the top of the second before giving up back-to-back walks.
Norton's only run of the second inning came after scoring on a passed ball.
Lexington picked up the third out after Burton threw the out to first base on a Norton grounder.
Allen Hunt started off with a walk in the bottom of the second inning and Burton followed with a walk.
Hunt scored Lexington's first run on an error by Norton's catcher.
