Propp sisters combine for 22 kills in Cozad’s reverse sweep of Lexington Tuesday
Emersyn and Ashlynn Propp put down a combined total of 22 kills for the Cozad Haymakers in their Tuesday home 3-1 win over Lexington.
Emersyn totaled 16 kills, with younger sister Ashlynn collecting six. Senior Braelyn Malcom led the Makers in kills with 18. The Propp duo also combined for 5 blocks.
Lexington was led by Sydney Reutlinger-Maravilla with 10 kills. Josslyn Mins had eight kills and Rylee Church had seven kills.
Cozad fell in the first set 25-17 before taking the next three sets 25-11, 26-24 and 25-17.
The Maids jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first set off a block by Church followed by a Cozad attack error.
An Emersyn Propp kill put Cozad on the board at 6-1.
Down the stretch, Lexington led 17-10 after a Piper Roberts kill.
Lexington used a 5-1 run to pull ahead 22-11 off a Reutlinger-Maravilla block.

Kipley Kuecker and Reutlinger-Maravilla teamed up for a block, giving Lexington the first set win 25-17.
Brynn Kaiser started the second set with an ace before Cozad used a an 8-1 run off an Emersyn Propp kill to pull ahead 8-2.
Back-to-back Malcom kills put the Haymakers up 15-7.
Cozad went on a 6-0 run down the stretch off a Malcom kill, forcing the Maids to call a timeout. Lexington trailed 20-8.

The fourth set started with a kill by Emersyn Propp. The teams traded points until a Malcom kill put Cozad up 8-4.
Out of a Lexington timeout, Mins and Church put down back-to-back kills to pull the Maids behind 9-8.
Lexington kept on the heels of Cozad down the stretch until Malcom put down two kills, putting Cozad up 18-14.
The Maids used a second timeout after trailing by four, but the Haymakers couldn’t be stopped.
Cozad continued a 6-0 run off a Maid attack error to lead 22-14.
