Victor Schutz
October 20, 1944 - August 26, 2026
Victor V. Schutz of Eustis passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the age of 81. Victor was born on October 20, 1944 at Holdrege, Nebraska to Walter and Ellen (Koch) Schutz.
Victor lived a life centered on faith, family, and the things he loved most. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska, an important part of his early life and faith journey.
On June 20, 1965, Victor married Janet Ballheim at St. John Lutheran Church in Eustis. Their marriage of 61 years was a lasting blessing, and together they built a family with their two children, Sonjia and Vern.
Victor served in the Army National Guard until 1972. He will also be remembered for the many simple pleasures that brought him joy throughout his life. He was an avid hunter, collected classic tractors, and loved watching stock car races. He enjoyed attending auctions, where he always made new friends, and he looked forward to local plow days, corn picking days, and tractor drives. He also loved playing cards, especially pitch.
More than anything, Victor loved following his grandchildren in their sports. Supporting them and cheering them on brought him great happiness and created many treasured memories for those who knew and loved him.
Victor will be remembered with love for his steady presence, his enjoyment of community gatherings, and the happiness he found in time spent with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Elmer and Irene Ballheim; infant sister; sister-in-law Jean Peterson and her husband Steve; brother-in-law Bill Zwink and granddaughter Aliya Schutz
