The August "Sturgeon" moon lights up the Western sky
on the outskirts of Lexington Friday morning. The sky turned colors
of blue and pink as the moon began its descent behind the horizon.
The August full moon was named by Native American tribes because
the large fish were easily caught during the late-summer period
according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. The moon reached full
peak in the late evening Friday.
