Fans of the orange and black Minutemen football team showed up to share their support during Lexington’s preseason Gatorade Scrimmage Friday at Ray Ehlers Stadium. Entry into the event was a sports drink the players can use during the season. The football team played against each other for over an hour in the nice weather, gaining cheers from the crowd coupled with Lexington cheerleading shouts. Lexington’s varsity squad kicks off the season with a home opener against Holdrege Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. The junior varsity squad’s first game is at Holdrege at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31.
