I-80 Overton East experiencing road work beginning July 15

NORTH PLATTE — Weather permitting, work will begin July 15 on Interstate 80 (I-80), from reference post 247.88 to reference post 254.88, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Vontz Paving, Inc., of Hastings, is the contractor for this project.
Work includes concrete repair, milling, asphalt overlay and pavement markings. Traffic will be maintained with temporary lane closures.
A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Oct. 2026.
The purpose of this project is to preserve transportation assets, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
