Overton Bandit's seniors use sixth inning to defeat Kearny Jersey's seniors 11-3
The Overton seniors picked up their second win of the season after defeating Kearney Jersey's seniors 11-3 Sunday in Kearney.
Tripp Davenport threw seven strikeouts, gave up six walks, allowed two hits and two run to be scored in a little over two innings.
Quin Oberg came in as a relief pitcher, throwing seven strikeouts.
Oberg gave up two walks, one hit and allowed one run scored.
In the top of the first, Oberg got on with a single base hit to center field.
Kearney struck out the next three batters.
Davenport gave up a walk to the lead-off batter in the bottom of the first before picking up back-to-back strikeouts.
A triple base hit put Kearney up 1-0.
Davenport earned the third out after a strikeout to close the first inning.
Jaxyn Myers hit a fly ball down first base for Kearney's first out in the top of the second.
Davenport singled on a ground ball to third base before Greyson McFarland drew a walk. Davenport stole his way to third base before scoring the tying run on a Kearney error.
Shaedyn Schreiner struck out before Hayden Montes got out on a dropped third strike.
