Dawson County Commissioners approve study on vacating part of County Road 426

LEXINGTON — The Dawson County commissioners voted 4-0, with Commissioner Bill Stewart absent, to approve a resolution directing Highway Superintendent Mark Christiansen to study vacating or abandoning a portion of County Road 426.
The board also approved the Local Emergency Operation Plan presented by Emergency Manager Brian Woldt.
In other board business:
Woldt gave an update on the courthouse remodel.
Sheriff Mark Montgomery provided the January crime report.
The board went into executive session for 27 minutes at the request of County Attorney Darlene Shafer to discuss legal matters involving Titan Machinery.
Prior to the commissioners' meeting, the Board of Equalization voted 4-0, with Stewart absent, to approve vehicle tax exemptions for the following:

Lexington's Treyvan Berry named to Shrine Bowl north football team

Lexington senior Treyvan Berry was announced to the 68th Nebraska Shrine Bowl north team Feb. 15.
Berry
The game will be played Saturday, June 6 at 4 p.m. at Cope Field at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The north team's head coach is Kameron Lenhart of Bennington.
Other coaches are North Platte's Kurt Altig, Arlington's Troy Schlueter, Raymond Central's Tony Kobza, Clarkson-Leigh's Jim Clarkson, Bennington's Brandon Mimick and Fort Calhoun's Zach Byrd.
