The Garcia family was one of many who came out to Plum Creek
Park on Saturday, May 16 for Hooked on Heroes, a free fishing day
hosted by American Legion Post 111 and VFW Post 5136 joined with
support from Nebraska Game and Parks. Generations were encouraged
to connect over the ancient outdoor activity, and prizes were given
away throughout the night. Veterans were present to help teach
basic fishing techniques and measure catches.
