LEXINGTON — The Lexington Minutemaid tennis team defeated Holdrege 10-2 at their home dual Thursday afternoon.
Lexington will host a dual against Gothenburg Tuesday, March 31 at 4 p.m.
SINGLES
Sydney Reutlinger won 8-1 over Summer Florell in the No. 1 matchup.
Millie Pepplitsch lost 9-7 in the No. 2 match against McKinley Jauken.
Kennedy Cetak won the No. 3 match 8-1 over Daniella Solorio.
Atley Harris won 8-0 over Ada Skiles Nitchie in the No. 4 match.
Josslyn Mins defeated Ann Weides 8-0 in the No. 5 matchup.
Jovie Worthing won 8-1 in the No. 6 match over Reyna Pineda.
Jasmin Aguirre won 8-4 over Grace Anderson in the No. 7 match.
Kamila Ortiz won the No. 8 match 8-1 over Norah Skiles.
DOUBLES
Reutlinger and Cetak defeated Jauken and Solorio 8-1 in the No. 1 doubles match.
Mins and Pepplitsch won the No. 2 match 8-0 over Pineda and Weides.
In the No. 3 match, Worthing and Harris lost 8-5 to Florell and Nitchie.
Burns and Goodwin won 8-6 over Skiles and Anderson in the No. 4 match.

LEXINGTON — The Lexington Minutemen won their home matchup 3-1 over the Hastings Tigers Thursday night at Ray Ehlers Stadium.
The Minutemen improved their record to 4-1 ahead of Saturday away game against Sioux City at 1:30 p.m.
In the opening minute of the game, Lexington's Alexander Barraz-Saenz had a penalty kick that was blocked.
The Tigers nearly got on the board first with a free kick that slid closely by the left side of the net in the 26th minute.
Lexington attempted to score off a corner kick but a Tiger defender used a header to get the ball away from the net.
Off a throw in, Lexington scored the first goal of the night in the 24th minute as Kendrick Marroquin slid a shot past the goalie.
Lexington attempted to score with back-to-back corner kicks, but Hastings was there each time to deflect the shots.
In an attempt to tie the match, Hastings had a free kick from 40 yards out, but the shot sailed too high.
Lexington led 1-0 at the intermission.
The Minutemen went up 2-0 in the 41st minute after Jose Navarrete pulled the Tiger goalie away from the goal to score. The assist went to Kendrick Marroquin.
Lexington and Hastings traded free kicks until a Hastings goal.
The Tigers setup for a free kick, the ball hit the upright bar and bounced off the goalie Alexis Alvidrez-Cardiel and cleaned up by a tiger for a goal.
The Minutemen led 3-1 after a goal by Javier Garcia-Escobar in the 57th minute with the assist to Miguel Tercero-Pascual.
Hastings had three free kicks to Lexington's one in the remaining 20 minutes.
Lexington attempted a long shot with 17 seconds left that was blocked by the Tiger goalie.
Alvidrez-Cardiel finished with three saves.
Lexington had approximately 15 shots on goal, three corner kicks and five free kicks.
The Minutemen host North Platte Tuesday, March 31 at 7:45 p.m. at Ray Ehlers Stadium.

LEXINGTON — The Lexington Minutemaid soccer team improved to 3-2 after defeating Hastings 1-0 Thursday at Ray Ehlers Stadium in Lexington.
The athletes battled through a windy evening with cool temperatures.
The first half was a defensive battle for both teams, ending in a scoreless first half.Â
Lexington had two shots on goal to Hastings' five in the first half.
Lexington scored in the 48th minute after Yerenys Rodriguez cleaned up a shot from Emmersyn Lawless that was blocked by the goalie.
The ball rolled to the right of the Hastings' goalie where Rodriguez broke free to score.
Lawless attempted a long shot in the 56th minute from 30 yards out that bounced off the top post of the goal, leaving teammates and the crowd sighing in dismay.
Despite Hastings outshooting the Maids 9-3, Lexington pulled off the victory.
Maid goalie Greta Rickertsen had six saves in the win, three in each half.
Lexington will host the North Platte Bulldogs Tuesday, March 31 at 6 p.m. at Ray Ehlers Stadium.
