LEXINGTON — The Lexington Minutemaid soccer team picked up their 11th win of the season after defeating Aurora 2-0 Thursday in Lexington.
Emmersyn Lawless scored the Maids' two goals in the victory shut out.
Her first goal came in the first minute of the first half.
In the 39th minute, Lawless scored the second goal.
The Maids led 2-0 at intermission.
Lawless had a penalty kick in the second half but the Aurora keeper got the save.
Aurora had only a couple shots on goal throughout the game but nothing sharp enough for a goal.
Lawless has scored 8 goals so far this season.
The Minutemaids hold on to a 10-4 record as they await their subdistrict matchup.
VS. KEARNEY CATHOLIC
Lexington girls fell to the Stars of Kearney Catholic Tuesday in Kearney.
The Stars picked up a 5-0 victory in their undefeated season.
Kearney Catholic scored four goals in the first half and one in the second.
Star Kaelin Key scored a goal in the 16th minute off an assist from Kassandra Trevino.
Key's second goal came in the 24th minute after getting past the Maid defender.
In the 66th minute, Key scored her third and final goal as she scored from the penalty area and past the Lexington keeper.
Trevino punched in a goal for the Stars in the 36th minute.
The fifth Star goal came from sophomore Emily Nelson.
Nelson's goal was the first goal of the evening in the sixth minute.
