ALMA — Warrants have been issued for four people in the March 11 armed robbery of an elderly couple in their rural Harlan County home.
Arrest warrants were filed last week in Harlan County Court last week for Damecius Grigsby, 23; Brock Teel, 29; Jake George, 22; and Rylie Bryson, 18, all for felony robbery, felony burglary and use of a firearm to commit a felony. The suspects are all from the Buffalo County/Kearney area.
Court records detailing the incident are sealed.
On March 11, the elderly couple were robbed at gunpoint at 7:30 a.m. at their home along Highway 136 between Oxford and Orleans. The suspects forced their way into the house and confronted the couple.
One warning shot from a .22-caliber rifle was fired at the couple as they laid in bed, said Chris Becker, Harlan County Sheriff. No injuries were reported.
The suspects took approximately $1,000 in cash and collectible coins, Becker said. One of the victim’s cell phones was also stolen, but it was later recovered in Alma. The back door of the home was damaged during the break-in.
During the investigation the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office and Kearney Police Department were able to identify four suspects and the vehicle they were driving. The investigation continues.
