HOLDREGE — Two people were ejected from a vehicle during a rollover accident Friday on U.S. Highway 183 near Holdrege.
The Phelps County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one-vehicle rollover accident at 10 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Highway 183 and 738 Road.
According to a report from the Phelps County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle driven by Averea Dickey, 22, of Kearney was northbound on Highway 183 when she attempted to pass a semi traveling in the same direction. She realized there was a southbound vehicle approaching, and she would be unable to complete passing the semi.

Dickey then attempted to return back to the northbound lane and overcorrected. Dickey lost control of the vehicle, entering into the west ditch where the vehicle rolled. Two people were ejected from the car.
Dickey and Dylan Cabrera, 19, of Kearney were transported to Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. In the call, it was stated a small child was released from a child seat and also was transported to PMHC.
Aubrea Dickey, 16, and Dakota Shaffer, 18, both of Kearney and also passengers in the vehicle, were transported to CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney. Condition reports on the vehicle’s occupants were not available this morning.
The vehicle is totaled, according to law enforcement officials.
