Steven Lee Phillips (Pappy), 66, of Oxford, Ala., died April 5, 2019, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by family .
A celebration of life is being planned for a later time in Arizona.
Steven was born July 7, 1952 in Lexington to Roy and Gladys (Brandenburg) Phillips. Steven worked as a machinist and supervisor in the Aerospace Industry for over 30 years. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed spending time camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends.
Steven was also a very creative person. He would never cease to amaze people with his many talents and handmade items. Steven was the type of person to never meet a stranger. He loved to meet new people and tell them stories. His love of people and chatting only intensified when he got his Thunder Mountain Harley. A passion for the open road began as Steve and his wife Kim rode side by side thru Arizona’s Sonoran Desert eventually visiting The Black Hills National Forest in Sturgis, S. D.
Steven is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kim; his daughters, Laura Olson, Michelle (Todd) Meeks, Brittney (Adam) Hendriksen and his son, Steven (Morgan) Phillips; his greatest blessings, his grandchildren, Olivia, Melanie, James, TJ, Lindsey, Kaden, Isabella, Maki and Grayson; his loving sister , Sharon (David) Gregory and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gladys Phillips and brothers Paul and Robert Phillips.
