A Celebration of Jeanne’s Life will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Pastor Anne Gahn, officiating. Inurnment will be in Robb Cemetery south of Lexington.

She was born Nov. 23, 1954 to Victor J. and Gladys W. (Ozanne) Kral.  She attended school in Lexington and was a graduate from Lexington High School with the class of 1972.  She then went on to further her education at Kearney State College with a degree in elementary education.  Jeanne was Miss Rodeo Nebraska in 1978 -- she considered this one of her greatest accomplishments.  She went back many times after that to teach and help the next girls who were vying for the title.

She was united in marriage to Mike Jeffrey in September of 1981 in Lexington.  They made their home south of Lexington.  Jeanne was an elementary and music teacher and taught in Lexington and Overton.  She was always teaching young children about etiquette and manners.  In her younger years, Jeanne loved working for Herb and Evelyn Ringenberg whether it was spraying thistles in the pasture or driving a silage truck.  Jeanne also sold Christmas Around the World for years and won many cruise vacations for she and Mike.  They also enjoyed cruises with friends to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and the Mexican Riviera.  In the early 90’s Jeanne was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and in the late 90s she moved to Loveland, Colo., to help with her health condition.  She loved going to Rocky Mountain National Park and watching all the animals, especially the elk. A trip would usually end with a stop at a Dairy Queen for a dilly bar.  Jeanne and Mike divorced in 2008.

Jeanne loved all animals especially horses.  She worked with the 4-H clubs teaching western and English riding.   She also loved jumping horses.

She always enjoyed playing cards, working on puzzles and playing board games.  There was always a table set up with a puzzle being worked on.  She was an avid photographer and enjoyed memorializing all the special birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, wedding and Christmases that she was able to be a part of.  She was a huge Nebraska Husker football fan and her family rarely missed a home game.

Jeanne was a member of P.E.O. Chapter FS and was the Children’s Choir Director for nearly 20 years at First United Methodist Church in Lexington.

Survivors include her ex-husband, Mike Jeffrey of Lexington; brother, Dan Kral of Milford; and two nieces, Barb (Andrew) Carr of Shawnee, Kan., and Margot (Graham) Nelson of Prairie Village, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials are kindly suggested to First United Methodist Church Or Robb Cemetery.
