Lois Ann (McKee) Michals died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Jan. 28, in her home, surrounded by her family.

Cremation was chosen and the family will hold a burial at a later date.

Lois was born April 23, 1949 in Lexington to Bill and Blanche McKee. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1967. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she completed her freshman year and the first semester of her sophomore year. She married Forrest Michals Oct. 8, 1968.

Lois enjoyed water skiing, long walks, gardening, traveling, tennis, bridge, and reconnecting with friends at her high school reunions.

Her family and friends were her greatest joy. She adored her grandchildren and was proud of their many accomplishments.

 Lois made friends easily with her beautiful smile and welcoming ways. She will be missed for her loving kindness and generosity.

She is survived by her children Stacey Maness, Aaron Michals and Kathy Young, five grandchildren and siblings Kay (McKee) Landers and Mark McKee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John McKee.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
