LEXINGTON — A 50-year-old Lexington man was arrested for a stabbing which occurred at the Lexington Walmart during the evening of Thursday, June 20.
At 10:15 p.m. the Lexington Police Department was notified someone had been stabbed at Walmart, Lexington Police Chief Tracy Wolf said. Officers spoke with the victim, a 28-year-old male Lexington resident.
The victim was transported to Lexington Regional Health Center by an acquaintance that was on scene.
Wolf said the suspect had already left the scene in a black Nissan pickup truck. Lexington Police contacted other law enforcement agencies with the vehicle details, asking them to be on the lookout.
The pickup was spotted near Overton not long after the alert had been issued. The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop and brought the two men in the pickup back to the police department, said Wolf.
After conducting interviews and an investigation, Lexington police officers arrested Lloyd Scott for first degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. Scott was then booked into the Dawson County Jail at 11:52 p.m.
