The Minutemen: Roothog or Die

LEXINGTON — The Class of ’59 is proud to announce the showing of the film titled “The Minutemen: Roothog or Die, The 1958 Championship Football Team” on Saturday, June 15 at 2 p.m. at the Majestic Theater. That team included 19 seniors and 13 juniors from the class of ’59. Several Class of ’58 players will be present to introduce the film. All interested people, whether alumni, sports enthusiasts or citizens of the community, are encouraged to attend. There is no charge, and concessions will be available.

The film was produced by Jim Brown, student manager for the team, and much of the historical material came from scrapbooks created by the mother of Ron Benton, a tackle on the team. Organizers are hoping for a huge crowd as much work went into locating and facilitating the release of this film for its second showing.
