LEXINGTON — As the 25th Annual Relay For Life of Dawson County quickly approaches, the total raised has exceeded the $30,000 goal and is less than $500 away from the $31,000 mark. Donations and team fundraising dollars continue to grow with organizers hoping to hit closer to $35,000 for this silver anniversary event.
The “25 Years of Finding Silver Linings” Relay For Life will be Friday, July 19, at Ehmen Park in Gothenburg. The event begins with cancer survivors and caregivers walking the first lap following opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. Activities continue until midnight.
Many corporate sponsors and area business in-kind donations contribute to making this annual event a success. Sponsor donations total $13,975 with the following businesses recognized.
Platinum Level ($2,500) – Service Drug, Cozad
Gold Level ($1,500) – Car Bar Cattle, Lexington Regional Health Center and ServiceMaster of Mid-Nebraska, all in Lexington
Silver Level ($1000) – Orthman Family Foundation, Lexington Community Foundation Give Big Lexingto,n and Shelter Insurance-Jackie Rowan, all in Lexington
