Construction worker death

ELWOOD — A Litchfield, Minn., man is dead after being struck by a skid steer on a construction site on road 735 and Highway 283 on Wednesday July 3.

Eric Koepp, 48, who was employed by Midwest Asphalt, was killed after he was struck by a skid steer which was being driven by Charles Bishop, 23, of Genoa. Bishop is employed by Paulsen Inc., said Gosper County Sheriff Dennis Ocken in a press release.

Koepp was pinned between the skid steer and another piece of machinery, and was pronounced dead at the scene, Ocken said.

The Gosper County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol, Elwood Fire and Rescue, Gosper County Attorney’s Office and the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.
