Justen Gutierrez

LEXINGTON – Lexington High School senior Justen Gutierrez was honored by the Nebraska School Activities Association in conjunction with U.S. Bank as one of its December 2012 – January 2013 Believers and Achievers during the Nebraska State Boys Basketball Championships in Lincoln on Saturday.

Gutierrez holds a 4.58 GPA due to the success he is having in honors calculus, physics and Spanish classes, and was one of only 48 students statewide to earn the award.

The Believers and Achievers award is given to students who embody the spirit of good citizenship and community service.

Gutierrez plans on attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney as part of the Kearney Bound program where he will major in pre-architecture and finance. He then plans to go to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln to finish his architecture degree.

At LHS, Gutierrez has been a member of the tennis and basketball teams. He is a youth basketball volunteer for LHS and also volunteers in the Lexington Community for Keep Lexington Beautiful.
