Local Boy Scouts attend Lex City Council meeting

Weston Cubbage, left, and David Christensen, right, are both Life Scouts working their way to Eagle Scout rank. They had to attend a city council meeting as part of a “citizenship in the community,” requirement.

LEXINGTON — Mayor John Fagot told the two Boy Scouts in attendance at Tuesday’s city council meeting they picked the right one. The city council had no new business to attend to other than approve the claims, bills and February meeting minutes.

David Christensen and Weston Cubbage had to attend a city council meeting for a citizenship in the community requirement. Both are Life Scouts working their way up to be Eagle Scouts. “Congratulations on your work,” Fagot told the two.

The council meeting was brief, bills were paid, and minutes were approved. During the roundtable discussion City Manager Joe Pepplitsch said the council had a work session meeting on Saturday, March 16.
