Life Flight G-Burg Accident

GOTHENBURG — All three Union Pacific tracks were struck and one damaged during a one vehicle rollover which injured three Gothenburg residents during the early morning hours of Saturday, June 1.

According to a press release from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, around 5:20 a.m. a Chevy Silverado pickup was southbound on Road 413 and did not stop for the stop sign. The Silverado continued across Highway 30 and entered the ditch. It then continued south and struck all three railroad tracks.

The Silverado rolled and ejected two occupants, no seat belts were in used according to the press release.

All three occupants were transported to Gothenburg Health by Gothenburg Fire and Rescue. The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old was transported by Life Flight to Kearney. A 20-year-old passenger was transported to Omaha by Life Flight. A third passenger, a 17-year-old was treated and released.

According to the Sheriff’s Office the accident remains under investigation.
