LEXINGTON – At approximately 5:39 a.m. Wednesday, the Lexington Police Department and Lexington rescue units responded to the 1800 block of Polk Street in reference to a 911 call from a 26-year-old male victim stating he had been stabbed.

The victim told officers responding to the residence that he woke to find two male subjects in the home and confronted them.

He reportedly sustained a stab wound to the abdomen from one of the suspects.

The suspects fled the home and the victim dialed 911.

The Lexington Police Department is conducting a follow up investigation and did not release the name of the victim as the matter is still under investigation.

LPD Chief Tracy Wolf asked citizens to contact the department at 308-324-2317 or Dawson/Gosper Crime Stoppers at 1-866-652-7383 if they had any information regarding the crime.
